Setting Up your Soundbar to Work with a TV Remote Control

If you don’t have a universal remote control, there’s no need to buy one. You can go ahead and program the soundbar to work with the remote control of the TV.

The following procedure would help you control a soundbar by that of a tv remote control and get rid of the two remotes for watching a movie or enjoying music [1].

The first step you need to take is to take a brief look at the rear end of your Soundbar and look for the red or white RCA audio jack input or another option that is a stereo jack single port. Then, see the rear end of your TV, and the jacks and inputs might be looking different than that for the soundbar, and you want to look for a headphone, hand frees, or a headset jack.

The wire you will need to connect the soundbar with that of the TV is the connecting cable with two black rings that indicate that it is a stereo cable, and the other end of the line is your typical red and white RCA connecting wire.

Now, connect the red, white RCA wires into the red and white RCA jack present on the rear end of the Soundbar. And if for some reason, the red and white RCAs are not present at the back of your Soundbar, there is a stereo jack.

Then use the cable with a plugin with two black rings on both sides and plug the one end into the stereo jack of the Soundbar and plug the other end into the headphone jack of the TV.

After making this connection, turn your soundbar on and then make sure that the Soundbar is set according to the proper input. So that in this particular case, the information of the Soundbar should be set to an analog input. And you would see the change in light on the screen of the Soundbar.

Make sure that the volume is turned down completely. The next step is to turn your TV on and start increasing and decreasing the TV volume to the level of your choice.

The next part that is a bit tricky you need to do is to slowly increase the sound of the soundbar using the remote control of the Soundbar and continue the process until you can hear the sound from the soundbar.  The following procedure is to continue increasing the volume on the TV till you reach the level of volume you want.

You do not want to increase the volume very high on the soundbar. Because when you would mute the television volume, a buzz is heard on the soundbar. These settings need to get manipulated to control the soundbar with that of the TV remote control and.

After the ring, you would adjust the soundbar volume through the remote control of the TV and get rid of the remotes for one purpose, listening to the TV’s sound through the soundbar.
