Programming GE Remote Control Codes to an Element TV

The process of programming a universal remote control to a TV will involve the utilization of codes. What are codes and how do they solve your lost remote dilemma? Codes are unique set numbers that can be encoded into your device or equipment to create a universal command. This will make control of your equipment and device a lot easier compared to before.

Once you’re done programming codes to your TV and remote, you can experience a a stress and hassle-free entertainment setup. Here is the detailed step-by-step tutorial on how to do it on your GE remote control and your Element TV.

1. Ensure that all of the devices you wish to set up are turned on and that your remote control is fully functioning. This is very necessary because you want to avoid any interruptions throughout the process and any repetition of steps.

3. Now, try to enter the SETUP mode. Press and hold the SETUP button, until you see a red light on your remote. Once it’s on, release the SETUP button, and make sure that the red light is still on. This is the indication that it’s ready for programming.

4. Press and release the TV button and you will notice that the red light will blink once and remains on after.

5. Provide the correct codes based on your remote model using the number keys of your remote control (provided below this page). Once you have entered the fourth or last digit, you will notice that the red light will turn off. Sometimes there are more than four-digit codes, so check if the light turns off after the last digit.

6. To further check if the remote is now working, aim your remote towards your television. Test some of the buttons like volume, channel, and more and see if the TV responds as expected. If doesn’t, you have to start from the beginning and repeat from step one but this time you will have to use the another code from the list.

If it worked on your first attempt, just apply the same steps to your other devices and their corresponding codes. If the codes didn’t work, there’s no need to worry because it usually happens. This is why you need to allocate some time for this process because there’s a possibility that you’ll have to repeat multiple times.
