How to Program Optimum Remote Codes
A Step-by-Step Guide

Optimum remote controls are perfect replacements if you need a substitute for your lost or damaged default TV remote. They come with all the controls needed to operate a TV. But setting it up is not easy due to the remote’s design.

This guide by our experts will explain how to program the remote and use its other functions.

Steps in Programming an Optimum Remote Control

You can program the Optimum remote to control your TV functions and other devices included in the package box. You can also configure the remote to control other TV brands that aren’t Optimum. However, you would need the remote codes for each TV brand.

Although a particular brand may have different digit codes, you only need to enter one set of four-digit codes during programming. You can enter another set of numbers if the remote control fails to configure the device.

First, our team of programmers will explain the steps to program the remote control to an Optimum TV set.

TV

  1. Press the A button on your remote.
  2. Click Settings from the home screen.
  3. Locate the remote symbol at the lower end of the screen and click.
  4. Choose Pair Remote to Altice One and follow the prompts.
  5. Select Pair Remote Control.
  6. The remote would be paired to the TV.

Note that the remote will only control the paired TV and not other devices. You need to unpair the remote with the TV to operate other gadgets. Here are the steps on how to unpair it:

  1. Select and hold keys 7 and 9 at once on the remote control.
  2. The light will blink rapidly and then turn off to show that the remote has been unpaired.

Suppose you need to control other TV brands. In that case, you need to program the remote to it using Optimum remote codes or auto search, as earlier explained by our technical team. Luckily, you don’t have to go through any trial and error because of the various codes for different TV brands provided here.

Using the Auto-Search Method

  1. Switch on the television.
  2. Hold the Volume and Power buttons simultaneously. Wait until the LED lights up.
  3. Press ‘1’ on the keypad and turn off the TV.
  4. Tap on the Select button to store the code after the TV turns off. At this point, the LED will go off.
  5. Test the remote and see if it has established a connection with the TV.

Using Digit Codes

  1. From the list below, jot down the remote codes for your specific TV brand.
  2. Turn on the TV to be programmed. Check the remote’s battery compartment to see if the batteries are in good working condition.
  3. Point the remote control to the TV to obtain signals and establish a connection.
  4. Hold the TV and SEL keys until the LED light blinks. This sign implies that the device is in Learning Mode.
  5. Input the four-digit codes you’ve written down earlier upon request using the number keypad on the remote control. If the code entered is correct, the LED light will go off. If this doesn’t happen, try another code.
  6. Test the setup by holding the Power key.
  7. If it switches off, it means you have correctly programmed the remote control to the TV. Check if the TV is responding to the commands on the remote.
