Bose Soundtouch 120 Review — Should You Take This Home Theater System Home? (2021)

Bose SoundTouch 120 Review

If you want to have an incredible sound experience, getting the best home theater system is ideal, although the selection process is demanding.

In compact-spaced homes, having a speaker with many cables isn’t an option. You’ll need a wireless speaker that’s convenient to mount anywhere while delivering excellent sound.

Our team has come up with this Bose SoundTouch 120 reviews to ease your buying process.

Pros

Cons

Bose Soundtouch 120 Design

Bose SoundTouch 120’s design isn’t exceptionally different from other soundbar designs, except for its dimensions. The long, rectangle-shaped Bose SoundTouch 120 is way more compact than most soundbars our team has tested. It measures roughly 43 cm wide and 8 cm long, making it ideal for tight spaces.

The soundbar comes with two internal speakers with five-speaker drivers that you can position to work correctly with Bose’s trademark TrueSpace Technology. This technology provides a unique sound experience with only two speakers.

Features of the Bose Soundtouch 120

Sound Quality

The sound quality from this soundbar is phenomenal when you consider that it’s a mid-range system compared to other high-rated wireless home theater system in the market. Although it lacks the dual PhaseGuide sound radiators found on high-end systems, it has five drivers that will deliver good quality, clear, and natural sound expected of a mid-range system.

With the ADAPTiQ sound calibration system, you can modify the speaker’s performance to suit your room’s acoustics for a better sound experience. Several factors, like the user’s location, room layout, and room content, can affect sound output. This sound calibration system will eliminate those impediments, resulting in a better and cleaner audio output.

Acoustimass Module

The soundbar’s Acoustimass module is a separate bass speaker included in the home theater system package. It provides an incredibly low-frequency bass quality.

The Acoustimass module supports wireless connectivity, so you don’t need a cable to connect the console and the bass module. As far as you aren’t farther than the recommended nine-meter connection spectrum, you’ll have a fantastic wireless listening experience.

Wireless Connectivity

Unlike the Bose CineMate 120 or other wired speaker system such as Logitech Z906 and Logitech Z5500, Bose SoundTouch supports both Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity out of the box. These are useful features that will allow you to connect to your music players, smartphones, and television to the home theater system comfortably.

The best part is you don’t have to stay in one room to listen to the same song. Since the soundbar can connect to a wireless speaker and have different drivers, you can stay in separate rooms and listen to the same music.

Additionally, the Bose SoundTouch allows you to stream and explore music from tens of thousands of stations online and popular services like Spotify, Pandora, Amazon Music, Deezer, etc.

Connections

The soundbar, Acoustimass module, and wireless adapter are connected to the console. The connections were slightly easy to do, as our experts encountered minimal issues.

The console has one HDMI output for Television and four HDMI ports that allow you to connect your gaming console, DVD, PC, and other compatible audio sources to it. The console also supports other audio input sources, such as the 3.5mm audio-in port, the analog line-in, coaxial and optical ports [1].

Control

The soundbar includes a universal remote control, as earlier stated in this Bose SoundTouch 120 review. The addition of this remote control is a testament that Bose’s products are designed with users in mind — for more comfort and ease of use.

More importantly, the soundbar has an app that allows you to control the SoundTouch 120 with a smartphone or tablet. You don’t need a remote to control or adjust settings, as you can do all that from the comfort of your phone.

Setting up the app on your tablet or smartphone is relatively seamless, and there are six programmable presets that enable you to play music from the installed app or remote.

Bose Soundtouch 120 Setup

Our team of experts didn’t find setting up the home theater system challenging. Since it comes with two speakers, it won’t be tough placing them correctly.

The Acoustimass module is designed for 30 feet or 9-meter distance, enough to offer you some placement freedom anywhere in the given space, no matter how large.

The ADAPTiQ calibration system is easy to set up and comes with a user manual to help you with the installation process. Once set up in your preferred location, it will give you the best surround effect.

Bose Soundtouch 120 Price

Despite having unique features, this soundbar comes at an affordable price. Compared to other products within its price range, we’d say that this soundbar beats them all price-wise. The home theater system is worth the price tag. Due to its affordability, you can even complement it with the best home theater seating for a more comfortable cinematic experience.

Bose Soundtouch 120 Review Conclusion

Undoubtedly, the Bose SoundTouch 120 would make an excellent choice of a home theater system, as evident in this Bose SoundTouch 120 reviews. It’s a perfect option to add to your music system if you desire a compact soundbar.

The addition of Bluetooth and Wi-Fi wireless options makes this home theater system a must-have. The surround effect is incredible, and that it comes at a fair price makes it one of the most powerful mid-range home systems.
